Valves

Collection: Valves

For cyclists switching to tubeless riding, tubeless valves are an essential piece of equipment. These special valves allow your tires to be sealed airtight without an inner tube , while also allowing you to easily add tubeless sealant . Whether you ride a road bike, mountain bike, or gravel bike, a good valve makes the difference between a reliable ride and unnecessary loss of time.

What are tubeless valves?

Tubeless valves are specifically designed for use in tubeless wheels. They are inserted through the rim and secured with a rubber seal or O-ring. Most tubeless valves have a Presta valve type, as this is the most common type used on sports bikes. The valve core is often removable, allowing you to easily add tubeless sealant with an injector or directly from a bottle.

Why are tubeless valves important?

Tubeless valves are much more than just a way to pass air. They play a crucial role in the airtightness and ease of use of your tubeless system. Without properly functioning valves, you'll lose air pressure or be unable to add sealant. High-quality valves stay securely in place, resist corrosion, and are compatible with virtually all rims.

Advantages of good tubeless valves:

  • Easy installation of sealant via removable valve core
  • Reliable sealing of the wheel
  • Reduced risk of punctures thanks to compatibility with sealant
  • Lightweight materials (aluminum or brass)
  • Available in multiple lengths for high rims

What types of tubeless valves are there?

Aluminum tubeless valves

Lightweight, corrosion-resistant, and available in various lengths. Ideal for anyone looking to save weight on their bike.

Brass valves

Slightly heavier but extremely durable. Often cheaper and ideal for those who want long-lasting performance.

Valves with removable valve core

Essential for tubeless riding: you simply unscrew the core to add sealant.

Aerodynamic or high-rim variants

Available in various lengths (often 40, 60, 80 mm) to suit high-walled rims such as aero racing wheels.

Including accessories

Many brands supply tubeless valves with extras such as:

  • Spare o-rings
  • Valve core remover
  • End caps with built-in tool
  • Filler rings for specific rim shapes

How do you install a tubeless valve?

  1. Remove the inner tube (if present) and clean the rim.
  2. Place the valve through the valve hole in the rim.
  3. Attach the rubber sealing ring on the inside and tighten the lock nut on the outside.
  4. Make sure the valve is seated firmly and straight.
  5. Apply tubeless tape and sealant according to the instructions.
  6. Mount the racing bike tire , MTB tire or gravel tire and inflate it to the correct pressure.

A valve core remover allows you to quickly add sealant or improve airflow during inflation.
